Cath’s love of contemporary female blues artists such as Lou Ann Barton, Marcia Ball, Angela Strehli and Janiva Magness have been influential in inspiring her to write her own songs. Collaborating with renowned Brisbane guitarist Chris Harvey, ensured that the resulting songs would also be an expression of some of his influences, incorporating elements of the original Fleetwood Mac’s Peter Green, Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour and of course Stevie Ray Vaughan. Dangerous Desire is a smouldering blues ballad with the haunting sounds of harmonica, Hammond organ and British Blues guitar reminiscent of Peter Green. Bad News Blues has an upbeat country blues rockabilly feel – get on board! Determined Woman Shuffle Texas Blues inspired by the early partnership of Lou Ann Barton and Stevie Ray Vaughan and delivered with a ton of attitude! You’re Only Human After All a cruising tongue-in-cheek swing number vocally inspired by female blues artists like Marcia Ball Something is Amiss Around Here funky rhythmic blues featuring Hammond organ Another Stormy Night in Queensland definitely Australian Blues with a touch of Dave Gilmour!!
