I have been extremely fortunate enough to perform with some exceptional musicians in my short time as a blues singer. I’m very grateful that some of these musicians were willing to participate in the creation of Dangerous Desires – collectively called Cath Butler’s Joynt Venture. Chris Harvey is one of the most passionate guitar players I have ever seen he, also performs with The Blues Rhythm Kings and one of Australia’s hardest working blues bands, Blind Lemon. Dave Griffiths is a lovely young man originally from New Zealand and a great bass player who also performs with Blind Lemon and with the Dillion James Band. Jules Victor also from New Zealand is a well known drummer in the Brisbane region and is vocalist and drummer with his own band The Blue Rhythm Kings and The Spring Hillbillies. Jamie Symons plays beautiful harmonica and is the front man for Blind Lemon who were winners of the Blues Association of Sth East Queensland’s Performer of the Year competition in 2008 and regulars at Blues Festivals and venues around Australia. Dillion James has performed with many well renowned blues bands in the Brisbane region including The Mojo Webb Band and Blind Lemon – he currently plays Hammond keys and fronts his own band The Dillion James Band. JB Lewis has the reputation of being one of Queensland’s best session musicians and this time around he contributed to the making of Dangerous Desires by playing pedal steel. JB has his own band The JB Lewis Band and he also plays bass guitar for The Mojo Webb Band Dave Gilbert is a great innovative young piano player who until recently was performing with local Brisbane band Timbah.
